The website of the Inclusive Travels in Ukraine project is available for testing

"Inclusive Travels in Ukraine: accessibility of Ukrainian museums" presents the trilingual website travels.in.ua, which was the result of four months of work by the project team with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. The website is still being refined, but basic functionality is already available to users, which is related to the assessment of the barrier-free level of museum institutions.

Today, the website contains about 1,000 museums in all regions of Ukraine. Almost 400 of them, in addition to general information, have an assessment of the level of inclusiveness based on the results of institution questionnaires, volunteer monitoring or expert audit. Accessibility information is presented in the form of a separate block that shows the barrier-free status of the adjacent space, main entrance, reception, interior spaces, exposition and restroom. Each of these elements has a label that defines one of three levels of accessibility: acceptable (green), low (yellow), or absent (red). In each point, users can read detailed information about the results of measurements. Also, everyone has the opportunity to choose a museum in the desired city or region according to the desired type of accessibility (for wheelchair users, people with visual or hearing impairments, other visitors with reduced mobility) or according to the presence of specific inclusive elements: parking, reception, restrooms, etc.

It is worth noting that since there are almost no museums in Ukraine whose barrier-free accessibility fully meets modern standards, the site developers had to include "conditionally accessible" objects in the output results, i.e., those that have elements of inclusion that do not quite meet the standards. For example, the filter "Wheelchair accessible" may show a museum equipped with a ramp with an angle of inclination of 6-8 degrees or with inappropriate handrails. This is done so that users can at least find out about the existence of such museums, and then personally decide whether they can visit them, using detailed information about the results of measurements.

The beta version of the site is already available for testing by users. The project team asks to report any detected errors or incorrect operation of the site to the e-mail address: inclusive@travels.in.ua.

In the near future, users will have the opportunity to rank lists of objects according to various characteristics, assign objects their own ratings, write comments and upload photos, collect the most interesting objects in favorites. Also, the work on drawing all the objects on the electronic map is in progress.

The project "Inclusive Travels in Ukraine: accessibility of museums of Ukraine" is an online catalog of museum institutions of Ukraine with an inclusivity rating, which is created with the aim of informing a wide audience about the level of accessibility of basic tourist infrastructure, promoting ideas of universal design and stimulating an increase in the level of inclusiveness of cultural and educational tourism in Ukraine. The project is implemented by a team of like-minded people, which united IT specialists, experts in the field of tourism, specialists in universal design and public activists with experience in implementing inclusive projects.

"Inclusive Travels in Ukraine: доступність музеїв України" представляє тримовний вебсайт travels.in.ua, який став результатом чотиримісячної роботи команди проєкту за фінансової підтримки Українського культурного фонду. Доопрацювання сайту ще триває, але користувачам вже доступний базовий функціонал, що стосується оцінки рівня безбар'єрності музейних закладів.

На сьогодні в базі сайту представлено близько 1000 музеїв в усіх регіонах України. Майже 400 з них, крім загальної інформації, мають оцінку рівня інклюзивності на підставі результатів анкетування закладів, волонтерського моніторингу чи експертного аудиту. Інформація про доступність представлена у вигляді окремого блоку, що демонструє стан безбар'єрності прилеглого простору, головного входу, рецепції, внутрішніх приміщень, експозиції та вбиральні. Кожен з цих елементів має позначку, яка визначає один з трьох рівнів доступності: прийнятний (зелений), низький (жовтий) або відсутній (червоний). В кожному пункті користувачі можуть ознайомитися з деталізованою інформацією про результати вимірювань. Також у кожного є можливість підібрати собі музей у потрібному місті чи області за потрібним типом доступності (для користувачів крісел колісних, людей з порушеннями зору або слуху, інших маломобільних відвідувачів) або за наявністю конкретних інклюзивних елементів: парковки, рецепції, вбиральні тощо.

Варто відзначити, що оскільки в Україні майже цілком відсутні музеї, чия безбар'єрність повністю відповідає сучасним стандартам, розробникам сайту довелося включити у результати видачі й "умовно доступні" об'єкти, тобто такі, що мають не зовсім відповідні стандартам елементи інклюзії. Наприклад, фільтр "Доступно користувачам крісел колісних" може видати музей, що обладнаний пандусом з кутом нахилу 6-8 градусів чи з невідповідними поручнями. Це зроблено для того, щоби користувачі принаймні могли дізнатися про наявність таких музеїв, а далі вже особисто вирішити, чи можуть їх відвідати, користуючись деталізованою інформацією про результати вимірювань.

Бета-версія сайту вже доступна для тестування користувачами. Про виявлені помилки чи некоректну роботу сайту команда проєкту просить повідомляти на електронну адресу: inclusive@travels.in.ua.

Найближчим часом користувачі отримають можливість ранжувати списки об'єктів за різними ознаками, виставляти об'єктам власні оцінки, писати коментарі та завантажувати фото, збирати найцікавіші об'єкти в обраному. Також триває робота з нанесення всіх об'єктів на електронну мапу.

Проєкт "Inclusive Travels in Ukraine: доступність музеїв України" – це онлайновий каталог музейних закладів України з рейтингом інклюзивності, який створюється з метою інформування широкої аудиторії про рівень доступності базової туристичної інфраструктури, пропаганди ідей універсального дизайну та стимулювання підвищення рівня інклюзивності культурно-пізнавального туризму в Україні. Проєкт реалізує команда однодумців, що об'єднала IT-спеціалістів, експертів у галузі туризму, фахівців з універсального дизайну та громадських активістів з досвідом реалізації інклюзивних проєктів.
