Exaltation of Holy Cross Church

The wooden church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Mykytyntsi was built in 1859. The Exaltation Church, which existed since 1764, was converted into a bell tower.

The complex is an architectural monument of national significance. The Church of the Exaltation of the Cross belongs to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Temple Day - September 27.

Forest Sculpture Museum

The private museum "Forest Sculpture" in Yabluniv is a permanent exhibition of the master Ihor Fartushny. The museum is located in a two-story building in the western part of the village.

The wooden sculptures collected here are made from snags found by the author in the forest, which were hardly processed. The main sculptor is nature. For this reason, products are tinted only with natural colors and varnished.

Holy Apostles Peter and Paul Church

The wooden church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Kosmach was built in 1904.

At first, it held Greek Catholic services, but after the 1946 cathedral, it became a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church, and in the early 1990s it transferred to the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

In 1965-1770, Volodymyr Romanyuk, the future patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, served as a priest in the Peter and Paul Church in Kosmach.

Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva Pyatnytsya Church

The wooden church of the Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva Pyatnytsya was built in Sheshory in 1874.

Currently, the landmark of Hutsul folk architecture of local importance has lost its authentic appearance - the church is almost completely covered with tin, wooden windows have been replaced with plastic ones.

The temple belongs to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Hutsulshchyna Folk Art Museum

The Hutsulshchyna Folk Art Museum in Yavoriv was founded in 1961. It is located on the third floor of the Yavoriv Lyceum "Hutsulshchyna".

The exposition presents the works of folk craftsmen of the Yavoriv region: various wooden products, carved caskets, painted ceramics, embroidery, traditional clothes, household items. The most interesting is the collection of home-spun Yavoriv lizhnyks (blankets) made of sheep's wool. A model of the Hutsul Grazhda (house) is also presented.

A separate literary and local history exposition is dedicated to the stay in the Hutsul Region of the outstanding Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrayinka.

Hutsulshchyna National Nature Park

National Nature Park "Hutsulshchyna" is located in the picturesque forest part of the Pokuttya-Bukovyna Carpathians. Its area is more than 32 thousand hectares.

The terrain combines foothills and mountain ranges. Deciduous forests predominate in the lowlands, low mountains are covered with beech-hornbeam forests, and Carpathian spruce (spruce) grows mainly at altitude. 19 species of animals living here are listed in the Red Book.

These places are interesting because ancient crafts, folk crafts, traditions and customs of the Hutsuls have been preserved here.

Many tourist routes pass through the territory of the national park. Ecological educational trails have been laid here, equestrian tourism, rural green tourism, and ethnotourism are developing. Lovers of water recreation are attracted by the rapids and waterfalls of the Lyuchka, Pistynka, and Cheremosh rivers.

The most popular object of the Hutsulshchyna National Nature Park is the Saint Nicholas Estate in the village of Pistyn.

In addition, the Nature Museum operates in the central manor of the national park in Kosovo. Exhibits on geology, zoology, dendrology, medicinal plants, phytotherapy, herbal room, etc. are presented.

Kishchuks Museum-Workroom of Lizhnykarstvo

The museum-workroom of lizhnykarstvo (blanket-making) and antiquities in Yavoriv was created in their own home by the family of Natalya and Yaroslav Kishchuk.

The museum introduces visitors to the process of making Hutsul woolen lizhnyks (blankets), which is a traditional craft of Yavoriv residents. The owners also make gunis (Hutsul outerwear), woolen caps, tank tops, shoes, and various carpets. You can see an ancient loom, a rare spinning wheel, household items of highlanders.

Visitors are offered master classes on weaving lizhnyks, photo shoots in Hutsul clothes, and an introduction to Hutsul life.

Kosiv Bazaar

Historic area

Kosiv Bazaar - a traditional Hutsul fair in the city of Kosiv, the largest in Prykarpattya.

Almost all products of Hutsul decorative and applied art are presented here: ceramic dishes, carpets, embroidered clothes, products made of iron, leather, and fur. Souvenir products are offered at wholesale prices.

Previously, the fair was held in the center of Kosiv. Now the market has been moved to the eastern outskirts of the city, to a large shopping area near the Kutsky bridge (Kosiv-Kuty street; 48°18'59''N, 25°6'42''E).

The Great Kosiv Bazaar is open only on Saturdays early in the morning (from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.).

The rest of the time, branded souvenir pavilions of the best Kosiv folk craftsmen are open in the very center of the city, next to the old Kosiv Bazaar.

Kosiv Museum of Hutsul Region Folk Art and Life

The Kosiv Museum of Hutsul Region Folk Art and Life presents a rich collection of folk crafts: wood carving, pottery, artistic weaving, embroidery.

The exposition introduces the folk decorative and applied art of the XIX-XX centuries.

Of special artistic value is the collection of works of the Shkryblyak family of carvers from the village of Yavoriv.

The Kosiv Museum of Hutsul Region Folk Art and Life is a branch of the National Museum of Hutsulshchyna & Pokuttia Folk Art in Kolomyia.

Kosmach Museum of Local Lore

The private historical and local lore museum in Kosmach was opened in 1999 by a local historian and collector Lyubov Vartsabyuk.

The exhibition in three halls tells about the history of the village of Kosmach, the construction of local churches and prominent residents of Kosmach.

The largest section of the museum is dedicated to the life and work of Patriarch Volodymyr (Vasyl Romanyuk), who served in the local church of Peter and Paul in 1968-1972.

The museum also has large collections of the works of Kosmach embroiderers and pysankarkas, modern Kosmach clothing and weaving products.

Lebedyn Lake

Natural object

The Lebedyn mountain lake is located on the territory of the Hutsulshchyna National Park, 5 kilometers northwest of the village of Sheshory.

Located in the mountains at an altitude of 650 meters, surrounded by a beech forest.

The legend tells about how in the waters of Lebedyn Lake, a young man and a girl in love, whose parents were against their marriage, joined forever, like swans.

The area of the Lebedyn protected tract is 45 hectares. Many medicinal plants can be found here.

Malyavsky Family Museum

The museum of the creative family of Hennadiy and Anastasiya Malyavsky was created at the Kosiv Children's School of Arts.

The artist Hennadiy Malyavsky was from Ternopil region, graduated from the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, and taught at the Kosiv School of Applied Arts since 1961. Here he met his future wife Anastasiya Yusypchuk, who also became his partner on the artistic path.

The best examples of Malyavsky's painting include works made in the genres of landscape and portrait. Some of them are presented in the Malyavsky Family Museum. Among them are works in oil, tempera, graphics.

The Mykhaylo Strutynsky Folk Art Museum also operates at the Kosiv Children's School of Arts.

Museum "Diedyk"

The "Diedyk" Museum was created in their own yard in Kosovo by the family of the Ukrainian poet and writer Bohdan Radysh, dedicating the exhibition to his memory.

Bohdan Radysh's memorial office is located on the first floor of the museum. In two rooms on the second floor, the works of the writer's son, craftsman Myroslav Radysh (boclages, plates, handmade crosses, candlesticks, bowls, etc.) are presented, as well as a selection of old clothes collected by his grandson, collector Eduard Radysh.

For now, the museum works unofficially, but already accepts visitors by prior arrangement.

Museum of Liberation Struggle of Prykapattya

The Kosiv Museum of the Liberation Struggle of the Prykapattya Region is dedicated to the historical events of 1920-1954, when the struggle of the Ukrainian people for independence took place in Ukraine, in particular in Prykapattya.

The exposition covers the heroic struggle of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the activities of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, the struggle of civilians against the occupation regimes, repressions against patriots.

The interior of the guerrilla shelter has been recreated.

he Kosiv Museum of the Liberation Struggle of the Prykapattya Region is a branch of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Museum of the Liberation Struggle named after Stepan Bandera.

Mykhaylo Strutynsky Folk Art Museum

The Mykhaylo Strutynsky Folk Art Museum occupies 2 large halls of the Kosiv School of Arts, where he taught for 30 years.

Since 1961, he has been collecting samples of Ukrainian embroidery, household items of the Hutsul Region, artistic works of painting.

The exposition presents various types of folk art of Podillya, Bukovyna, Hutsul Region, Pokuttya, Boyki Region and Opillya: ancient icons of the XVIII-XIX centuries, objects of sacred art, embroidery, ceramics, folk clothes, etc.

The art collection presents the works of masters from Kalush, Dolyna, Nadvirna, Rozhniativ, Kolomyia, and Ivano-Frankivsk.

The Malyavsky Family Museum also operates at the Kosiv Children's School of Arts.
