Vinnytsia district (Vinnytskyi) is located in the central part of Vinnytsia region, on the territory of historical Podillya. The Southern Buh River flows within the district. There are such historical and cultural monuments as the National Museum-Estate of Mykola Pirohov, Nemyriv and Voronovytsia palaces, Cherlenkiv Castle, pond "Werewolf".
The administrative center of Vinnytskyi district is the regional center, the city of Vinnytsia. The area of the district is more than 6900 square kilometers. The population of the district exceeds 655 thousand people.
