Cities and villages of Berdiansk district

Berdiansk district (Berdianskyi) is located in the south-eastern part of the Zaporizhzhia region, in the historical and ethnographic territory of the Azov region. From the south it is washed by the waters of the Sea of Azov.

The coastal natural complexes are protected by the Priazovsky National Nature Park, which combines a number of reserves and natural monuments. The rivers Berda and Obytichna flow within the district. Berda floodplain and Berdiansk spit have the status of reserves of national importance. Here are such historical and cultural monuments as Berdiansk mound of Scythian times, Berdiansk lighthouse of the XIX century, Petro Schmidt Memorial House-Museum, Berdiansk Art Museum named after Isaac Brodsky.

Прибережні природні комплекси охороняє Приазовський національний природний парк, що об’єднує ряд заказників та пам’яток природи. В межах району протікають річки Берда й Обитічна. Заплава Берди та Бердянська коса мають статус заказників загальнодержавного значення. Тут розташовані такі історико-культурні пам'ятки, як Бердянський курган скіфських часів, Бердянський маяк XIX століття, Меморіальний будинок-музей Петра Шмідта, Бердянський художній музей імені Ісаака Бродського.
