Chervonyi Maiak

The village of Chervonyi Maiak is located on the right bank of the Dnipro (Kakhovsky Reservoir) 25 kilometers northeast of Beryslav.

Until the 18th century, there was a small Turkish fortress here, which later gained popularity as a "Zaporizhzhia town". In 1781, these lands were allocated by the tsarist government of the Russian Empire for the establishment of a monastery. The first monks lived in caves on the mountainside above the Dnipro, which, according to legend, appeared in the time of the nomads who lived in these regions.
