Hlevakha

The village of Hlevakha is located 20 km south-west of Kiyv, on the Kyiv-Odesa highway, next to Vasylkiv.

The name of the village comes from the river Hleva. Hlevakha was first mentioned in the 15th century, when the lands of the Kyiv region were part of the Lithuanian principality. It belonged to the landowner Semen Hrynkevych, then to the Kyiv Saint Mikhael Monastery. The monks built in the 17th century. water mill. As part of the Russian Empire, the village was state-owned.

The life of the village revived in the end. XIX century. the nearby Kiyv-Fastiv railway.

During the revolutionary events of 1917-1920. the village was actually divided into two warring camps - supporters of the independence of Ukraine and the Bolsheviks.

Назва селища походить від річки Глева. Вперше Глеваха згадується в XV сторіччі, коли землі Київщини входили до складу Литовського князівства. Належала поміщику Семену Гринкевичу, потім Києво-Михайлівському монастирю. Ченці збудували в XVII столітті водяний млин. У складі Російської імперії село було державним.

Життя селища оживила в кінці XIX століття прокладена неподалік залізниця Київ-Фастів.
