General information about Kozhanka
The village of Kozhanka on the Kamianka River is located between Fastiv and Popilnia.
Known since the 14th century. The name is most likely related to the main craft of the first settlers - skinning.
In the central part of Kozhanka, the wooden Church of the Intercession, built in 1759, has been preserved. The sugar factory, which was opened in the 19th century, is currently not working.
Селище Кожанка на річці Кам'янка розташоване між Фастовом і Попільнею.
Відоме з XIV сторіччя. Назва швидше за все пов'язана з основним ремеслом перших поселенців - вичінкою шкіри.
В центральній частині Кожанки збереглася дерев'яна Покровська церква, збудована в 1759 році. Цукровий завод, який було відкрито в XIX столітті, в даний час не працює.

Intercession Church

The Intercession Church in Kozhanka is located on a hill in the center of the village.
The church is wooden on a stone foundation, three-log three-domed, later expanded due to the addition of low buildings and a vestibule. A small extension adjoins the apse from the south. Log houses are covered with octagonal domes without drums, which makes the silhouette of the building somewhat stocky.
According to legend, the funds for the construction of this church were raised by the Haydamaks.
The unusual composition of the building places it among a number of interesting monuments of wooden architecture of the Right Bank of Ukraine.
