Strakholissia

The village of Strakholissia is located on the right bank of the Kyiv Reservoir, 40 kilometers east of Ivankiv.

It was first mentioned in 1695. Remains of Bronze and Early Iron Age settlements were also discovered. The name of the village is associated with a large and dense forest that surrounded these places.

According to legend, in 978, one of the personal battles between the Kyiv prince Yaropolk Svyatoslavych and his brother, the Novhorod prince Volodymyr Svyatoslavych took place here.

Near the village there is a well dedicated to Saint Seraphim of Sarovskyi, the water of which has healing properties. The Trinity Church was built in 1998.
