Tomashivka

The village of Tomashivka on the banks of the Irpin River is located 18 kilometers north of Fastiv.

According to legend, it was founded by the participants of the Cossack uprising against the surviving Poles, near the grave of their fallen chieftain Tomash.

Until the end of the 18th century, these lands belonged to the metropolitans of Kyiv, and then they became the property of Hryhoriy Dolhoruky, who soon sold them to the Mazovian nobleman Yan Khoyetsky, a member of the Polish Seimas.
