Olenivka

The village of Olenivka is located 20 kilometers east of Fastiv.

It was first mentioned in the 17th century as Helenivka, when the Polish landowner Edvard Rulikovsky from Motovylivka gave the manor located here as a dowry for his daughter Helena.

At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, the village belonged to the landowner Varvara Khanenko, who, using the natural landscape, laid a landscape park with a cascade of lakes at the Olenivka estate. In 1904, a craft school and 6 handicraft workshops were founded, the products of which were repeatedly presented at exhibitions in Kyiv and St. Petersburg, and were also sold in London. A fragment of the cobbled road laid to the manor from the Motovylivka station has been preserved. A school built at the expense of the Khanenkos at the end of the 19th century has also been preserved.
