The White Stones waterfall on the rapids of the Inhulets River is also known as the Karachun Waterfalls, as it is formed by two river branches flowing from the dam of the Karachun Reservoir in Kryvyi Rih.
The waterfall was created in 1932-1938 during the construction of a reservoir dam intended to supply water to the Kryvyi Rih metallurgical plant and the Kryvyi Rih water intake. It consists of the Western and Eastern waterfalls, which flow down the granite ledges from the dam in powerful streams. The cascade of the Western waterfall reaches 12 meters in height. It looks most impressive from below. It is especially beautiful in winter, when the water freezes on the fireplace with white stalactites.
Near the White Stones waterfall, there is a railway bridge over Ingulets (height 53 meters, length 161 meters), built in the 19th century according to the project of the architect Boholyubsky. This is the highest bridge of the Kryvyi Rih Basin.
