Village History Museum

Museum / gallery

The public history museum of the village of Moshoryne is located on the second floor of the Moshoryne secondary school. It has two sections: ethnographic and historical.

The ethnographic section recreates the interior of a traditional Ukrainian house with a stove, benches, chests, bowls shelf, icons and embroidered towels. Here are presented items of rural life: nightstands, a barrel, a measuring cup, a bread bowl, a sieve, a rubel for ironing, a rocking chair, wicker products from bark and vines. You can also see agricultural tools: a sickle, a flail, a grain grinder, a hand mill and a yoke for oxen.

The historical section is devoted mainly to the events of the Second World War. About 200 portraits of Moshoryne residents who died at the front are presented. Among the exhibits: a rifle butt, a bayonet knife, machine-gun belts, grenades, helmets, flasks, a German-style gas mask.

The new exposition is dedicated to the natives of the Moshoryne village who took part in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Village History Museum

Museum / gallery

The People's Museum of the Nadlak Village History is located in the premises of the Village House of Culture. It was opened in 1973 on the initiative of local high school teachers. The exhibition in four rooms highlights the history and culture of this region from the earliest times.

The exhibits of the first room tell about the ancient life in this area, about the emergence of the village of Nadlak in the middle of the 18th century and about its development until 1917. In particular, you can see stone molds for the manufacture of metal tools.

The second room is dedicated to the period between the two world wars. It houses exhibits that visually demonstrate the life and culture of the Nadlak village of that time - from a wooden plow to an iron plow.

The third hall of the museum is devoted to the Second World War and the life of people during the occupation. Old photographs, letters and objects found on the battlefields are presented here: uniforms, soldier's flasks, cartridge cases, cartridges, machine gun belts and others.

The fourth hall of the museum acquaints visitors with the post-war period, restoration and development of the village of Nadlak. A separate museum exposition is devoted to friendly relations between Ukrainian and Bulgarian farmers.

The Pidvysoke Village History Museum was opened in 1967. It is located on the second floor of the Village House of Culture, in three rooms with a total area of about 170 square meters.

The first room of the museum acquaints visitors with the history of the area from the Bronze Age to the collapse of the Russian Empire. Fragments of Trypillya ware, household items of later eras, materials about the founding of the village of Pidvysoke in the first half of the 18th century are presented. In the ethnographic exhibition you can see a loom, a spinning wheel, various household appliances and dishes.

The central element of the composition about the Second World War is a large diorama, which reproduces one of the battles of 1941, which were fought near Uman by the 6th and 12th Soviet armies surrounded by the Germans.

Vilshanka Ukrainian-Bulgarian Historical Museum named after Ivan Hurzhos

Museum / gallery

The Vilshanka Ukrainian-Bulgarian Historical Museum bears the name of its founder, Ivan Hurzhos, who during his lifetime collected a large collection of local history materials on the history of his native Vilshanka and the Vilshanka region.

The main exposition is devoted to the resettlement of more than 400 families of Danube Bulgarians who took part in the Russian-Turkish war of 1768–1774 on the side of Russia. The most valuable exhibit is the icon of St. John the Merciful (1874), painted for the 100th anniversary of the settlement of Bulgarians in the Vilshanka region.

Also among the exhibits: the Bulgarian national musical instrument – a gaida, saber and scabbard produced by the Zlatoustiv factory, Bulgarian national women's clothing, a Cossack pipe, works of local carpet makers and embroiderers, etc.

Special attention should be paid to the reprint edition of "Vilshanka Village Chronicle", written by the priest of the Church of Saint John the Merciful Volodymyr Lobachevsky, who described the period from 1773 to 1885.

Yuriy Yanovsky Literary Memorial Museum

Museum / gallery

The Literary Memorial Museum of the writer Yuriy Yanovsky is located in the village of Nechaivka, where he was born in 1902. The museum building was erected in the center of the village in 1972 on the initiative of fellow villagers.

The Yanovsky family was of Cossack origin, they were distant relatives of the Hohol-Yanovsky. They lived on the Mayorivka farm, which is now part of the Nechaivka village (a memorial sign has been installed on the site of the homestead). Yuriy Yanovsky lived here for the first 15 years of his life, studied at the local Zemstvo school. In 1917, the family moved to Yelysavethrad, but memories of the native village were reflected in the writer's work.

The design of the museum exposition was executed by the monumentalist artist Volodymyr Volokhov, realizing in artistic form the two main themes of Yuriy Yanovsky's work - the steppe and the sea.

The basis of the museum exposition is Yuriy Yanovsky's personal belongings, books, photo albums, documents, order books, a membership card of the Writers' Union. The interior of the writer's dining room and office in his Kyiv apartment is reproduced. Decorations for performances staged based on Yanovsky's plays, theater posters are also exhibited.
