Hutsulshchyna National Nature Park

National Nature Park "Hutsulshchyna" is located in the picturesque forest part of the Pokuttya-Bukovyna Carpathians. Its area is more than 32 thousand hectares.

The terrain combines foothills and mountain ranges. Deciduous forests predominate in the lowlands, low mountains are covered with beech-hornbeam forests, and Carpathian spruce (spruce) grows mainly at altitude. 19 species of animals living here are listed in the Red Book.

These places are interesting because ancient crafts, folk crafts, traditions and customs of the Hutsuls have been preserved here.

Many tourist routes pass through the territory of the national park. Ecological educational trails have been laid here, equestrian tourism, rural green tourism, and ethnotourism are developing. Lovers of water recreation are attracted by the rapids and waterfalls of the Lyuchka, Pistynka, and Cheremosh rivers.

The most popular object of the Hutsulshchyna National Nature Park is the Saint Nicholas Estate in the village of Pistyn.

In addition, the Nature Museum operates in the central manor of the national park in Kosovo. Exhibits on geology, zoology, dendrology, medicinal plants, phytotherapy, herbal room, etc. are presented.

Icons Museum

The Icons Museum in the village of Pomoniata has been created since 2024 in the premises of the People's House, which was built in 1932 at the expense of the local Ukrainian community.

The village of Pomoniata has long been known as a center of icon painting, which especially developed during the Soviet persecution of the church in the second half of the 20th century. Icons from Pomoniata were well known throughout Galicia. Icon-painting creativity of Pomoniata residents was especially popular among the residents of Hutsulshchyna and Boykivshchyna. This tradition has survived on a smaller scale to this day.

The exhibition will present a collection of Pomoniata icons from different years, collected by local residents.

Illintsi Village History Museum

The Illintsi Village History People's Museum was opened in 1987 on the initiative of the local teacher and local historian Roman Ryzyuk.

The museum is located on the second floor of the Illintsi Lyceum. Museum funds include about 2,000 exhibits.

The exhibition tells about the history of the village of Illintsi and its surroundings from the Neolithic era to the present day. In particular, you can learn about the development of the village in the 18th-19th centuries, the wave of emigration at the end of the 19th century, the formation of units of the USS in the region at the beginning of the 20th century, public organizations of the village in the first half of the 20th century, the liberation struggle of 1943-1953, the creation of a collective farm in the village, local schooling, etc.

The exhibition also introduces the folk culture and daily life of the village residents. Separate stands are dedicated to outstanding people of the region.

Intercession of Holy Virgin Church

The wooden Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was built in Maniava in 1819.

It is located in the center of the village. The value of the church is that it remained practically in the same form as it was 200 years ago.

The Church of the Intercession in Maniava is an architectural monument of local importance, belonging to the community of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Introduction to the Temple of Holy Virgin Church

The first wooden church in Polianytsia was built in 1912 and consecrated on the feast of the Introduction of the Holy Virgin.

In 1946, the Introduction temple burned down.

The church was rebuilt only in 1990.

Next to the church is the burial place of Austrian soldiers who died during the First World War.

Ivan Franko Family House Museum

The Ivan Franko Family House Museum in Kalush is located at the exit from the city in the direction of Ivano-Frankivsk. This area of the city was once a separate village of Pidhirky, where the family of Onufriy Franko, the brother of the writer Ivan Franko, lived since 1904. The writer himself also often visited his brother's estate.

A two-story house, built in 1935 by the son of Onufriy Franko, Omelyan, has been preserved. In 1992, Omelyan's daughter Oksana Franko initiated the transformation of the house into a museum.

Letters and other family documents, household items, clothes, paintings are stored in seven exhibition halls. In "Franko Room" original things of Onufry Franko's family are presented, in particular, a unique collection of embroideries and household items. On the second floor, you can see a rare grand piano and antique household items that have been preserved since Onufriy Franko's family moved. 

The Ivan Franko Family House Museum is one of the subdivisions of the Communal Institution "Museum and Exhibition Center of the Kalush City Council".

Ivan Franko Literary Memorial Museum

The Literary and Memorial Museum of Ivan Franko was opened in Vasyl Yakibyuk's house, where the writer rested several times in 1906-1914.

He liked Kryvorivnia so much that he chose this village for his permanent summer vacation and came here almost every summer with his family for 12 years. Here he was visited by Lesya Ukrayinka, Hnat Khotkevych, Mykhaylo Kotsyubynsky, Mykhaylo Hrushevsky, Volodymyr Hnatyuk, Volodymyr Shukhevych and others. Already sick, Franko continued to work here, dictating the texts of his works to a local teacher.

The Literary and Memorial Museum of Ivan Franko was founded in 1960 on the initiative of the wife of the writer Hnat Khotkevych - Platonida. In the exhibition, located in 5 rooms, Franko's personal belongings are stored: a bed, a desk and a chair, a bench for guests, a clock, etc. An interesting Hutsul stove decorated with tiles made by Oleksa Bakhmatyuk (1874).

The Literary and Memorial Museum of Ivan Franko in Kryvorivnia is a branch of the Ivano-Frankivsk Museum of Local Lore.

Ivan Franko Monument

Monument

The monument to Ivan Franko was opened in Kolomyia for the 156th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian writer, poet, philosopher and public figure.

Franko repeatedly visited Kolomyia, where he founded the radical society "People's Will", participated in people's meetings, read his works in the People's House.

Nine years have passed since the idea of ​​building a monument to Kamenyarev in Kolomyia came to fruition. Funds for the monument were collected all over the world. Regional and local authorities, patrons joined. The Kolomyia sculptor Vasyl Andrushko, professor of the Lviv National Academy of Arts Vasyl Hurmak, and architect Oleh Pril worked on the monument.

Kalush Town Hall

Architecture

The Kalush town hall was built in Kalush in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, opposite the Saint Valentyne's Church.

The city of Kalush used Magdeburg law since 1549. The first stone town hall existed in the 17th-18th centuries, but its location is unknown.

The current building of the city municipality is built in the style of classicism with elements of modernism, has an L-shaped shape. The main decoration is a low clock tower.

Until 1939, the Kalush magistrate sat here, and during the Soviet times, the district committee of the party moved here. In the early 1970s, the premises were transferred to the Department of Agriculture. Since 2005, the building has been undergoing long-term reconstruction, and its condition remains in a state of disrepair.

Kalushchyna Ethnographic Museum

The Kalushchyna Ethnographic Museum was created in 1994 at the Higher Vocational School No. 7 of the Kalush city on the initiative of teacher Valeriy Serdyuk.

The exposition presents the ethnographic collections of objects of traditional culture of Boykivshchyna and Prykarpattia collected by students and teachers, in particular, household and artistic objects of the 18th-20th centuries. In the section "Folk crafts and crafts" products of pottery, weaving, and blacksmithing are presented.

The collection of agricultural implements tells about ancient methods of farming and animal husbandry. The interior of a village house of the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century is reproduced.

There are many collections of embroidery, folk clothes, artistic products of folk crafts. In the section "Sacred monuments of Boykivshchyna" church antiquities of the 18th-20th centuries are presented.

Kalushchyna Local Lore Museum

The Kalushchyna Local Lore Museum is one of the subdivisions of the Communal Institution "Museum and Exhibition Center of the Kalush City Council"

The Museum and Exhibition Center also includes the Memorial Museum "Kalush Prison", the memorial complex "Kryivka of the Cheremosh", the Franko Family House-Museum and an exhibition hall.

It was opened in 1997 in the building of the former Jewish community, which is an architectural monument of the first half of the 20th century.

The basis of the exposition is the archaeological monuments of Kalushchyna, ancient documents, old church prints, works of fine art, old photographs, materials on the history of bell-making, household items, etc.

An art gallery is located in the same room.

King Christ Basilian Monastery

The Monastery of the Fathers of the Order of Saint Basil the Great was founded in Ivano-Frankivsk before the Second World War. The first stone for the construction of the monastery was laid in 1936, and the construction was completed in 1938.

The Church of Christ the King was built according to the plans of the Lviv architect Oleksandr Pezhansky, and the general supervision of the works was carried out by the famous Ukrainian builder Taras Hrytsak. The temple was built in the Byzantine style with five domes like Sophia Cathedral.

In 1946, the monastery was closed by the Soviet authorities, and the church housed an archive.

In 1990, the complex of the monastery of Christ the King was returned to the Basilian Fathers.

Kishchuks Museum-Workroom of Lizhnykarstvo

The museum-workroom of lizhnykarstvo (blanket-making) and antiquities in Yavoriv was created in their own home by the family of Natalya and Yaroslav Kishchuk.

The museum introduces visitors to the process of making Hutsul woolen lizhnyks (blankets), which is a traditional craft of Yavoriv residents. The owners also make gunis (Hutsul outerwear), woolen caps, tank tops, shoes, and various carpets. You can see an ancient loom, a rare spinning wheel, household items of highlanders.

Visitors are offered master classes on weaving lizhnyks, photo shoots in Hutsul clothes, and an introduction to Hutsul life.

Kosiv Bazaar

Historic area

Kosiv Bazaar - a traditional Hutsul fair in the city of Kosiv, the largest in Prykarpattya.

Almost all products of Hutsul decorative and applied art are presented here: ceramic dishes, carpets, embroidered clothes, products made of iron, leather, and fur. Souvenir products are offered at wholesale prices.

Previously, the fair was held in the center of Kosiv. Now the market has been moved to the eastern outskirts of the city, to a large shopping area near the Kutsky bridge (Kosiv-Kuty street; 48°18'59''N, 25°6'42''E).

The Great Kosiv Bazaar is open only on Saturdays early in the morning (from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.).

The rest of the time, branded souvenir pavilions of the best Kosiv folk craftsmen are open in the very center of the city, next to the old Kosiv Bazaar.

Kosiv Museum of Hutsul Region Folk Art and Life

The Kosiv Museum of Hutsul Region Folk Art and Life presents a rich collection of folk crafts: wood carving, pottery, artistic weaving, embroidery.

The exposition introduces the folk decorative and applied art of the XIX-XX centuries.

Of special artistic value is the collection of works of the Shkryblyak family of carvers from the village of Yavoriv.

The Kosiv Museum of Hutsul Region Folk Art and Life is a branch of the National Museum of Hutsulshchyna & Pokuttia Folk Art in Kolomyia.
